Pet Photography Portland Oregon

pet photographer, portland oregon

I'm Mel.

Fur-mama to my four rescue babes and lifetime advocate for the animals; I have always loved documenting critters at any stage of their life. It's easy to forget how little time we have with our animal companions and I'd love to commemorate your furry loves and the bond you share.  I also work as a birth and family photographer over at Sommessa Photography.

Satisfied Customers

  • Do you photograph animals other than cats and dogs?

Yes! From guinea pigs to birds, I love to document all critters.

  • What if I have more than one pet?

You can add a critter to your package for an additional $50/animal. You'll receive 5 extra images from your session.

  • Can I be in some of the photos?

Sometimes animals are more comfortable in your arms, so please do be prepared to be in a couple shots in case they are nervous. Please keep in mind that the portrait package is specifically to document your animal companion(s).

  • What if I really, really want humans included in the session?

Please add information about the number of humans you'd like included in your pet portrait package in your message. I sometimes am able to create a custom package for 1-2 adults. For whole family photography including children, please reach out to me at my family portrait website: Sommessa Photography

  • How do I prepare my critter for their session?

After your session has been booked I'll send you a prep guide via email!

  • What if my critter has to be on leash?

If your critter needs to be on a leash when outdoors I definitely recommend a studio session! The studio space is secure for your little one to roam.

  • Do you travel outside of Portland or out of state?

Yes! I offer custom travel sessions. Please let me know where you're located in your contact form.
