Angus

Angus was rescued by Northwest Dog Project at 7 weeks old after he was kicked in the face by a terrible human and suffered in pain for 2 days without adequate medical care. The moment NWDP heard about him they knew they had to step up & immediately got him to the emergency vet. On top of a broken palate and injured mandible Angus was extremely dehydrated, had lost a significant amount of blood, and due to the swelling in his nasal cavity had trouble breathing. He was immediately placed on oxygen, so weak he couldn’t stand. He likely would not have made it another 24 hrs.

Angus then battled parvo while in Oaks Vet care and had a very scary, touch-and-go week. Later a CT scan showed that his nose was shattered from the kick to his face and his skull was fractured.

After struggling with his bite guard his amazing vet team took shifts to keep a finger in Angus’ mouth so he was able to breathe while he slept. Angus then figured out he could keep his mouth open with toys (and now his foot) so he was able to breathe. He’s still in their care and healing slowly. The next surgery Angus needs is to repair his nasal passages so he can breathe out of his nose again. Get well, sweet Angus!
